“You were an unexpected surprise, the defining moment. The collision of stars that slammed into me hard and and sent my neat little world plummeting into the ocean. I never expected it to be you, you know? But it is you. It’s all you. And now there’s no looking back.” – Beau Taplin // The […]

The Wedding of Jen & Trent {Macedon Ranges Wedding Photographer}

Roads go ever ever on, Over rock and under tree, By caves where never sun has shone, By streams that never find the sea; Over snow by winter sown, And through the merry flowers of June, Over grass and over stone, And under mountains in the moon. – JRR Tolkien I can always tell how […]

Simply Divine {Photographer Macedon Ranges/ Melbourne}

It’s pretty fair to say that this winter has been particularly cold, wet and windy. So when photographing this lovely family at the Abbotsford Convent, on a relatively warmish, sunny winters day, I wondered whether we had some sort of divine intervention from the ex-inhabitants of this historical place. I love these Kim – there’s something very classic about these images.. timeless.

We are the same with boys in my family. no girls on my husband’s side for over 100years ( no, not kidding ) and my side leans a bit more to the blokes too. Boys are great 🙂

Kim, I can’t help but think of the book ‘Raising Boys’ by Steven Biddulph (have you read it?). I can just imagine the first image (my absolute fav) on the front cover – I love the different ages represented in that photo, and just the boyishness of them all. Oh, and poor Nana!!! What an adventurous woman; looks like she has no other choice. LOVE these Kim – they really speak to me!! x
