The Good Life {Macedon Ranges Lifestyle Photographer}

I love autumn. I always have, it’s my absolute favourite time of year. Crisp frosty mornings, turning into glorious warm days, cool nights with open fires, hearty food and the colour. Oh the colour! Reds, yellows, oranges, browns combined with that beautiful golden light that seems to magically appear.

So it’s no wonder then that it is my favourite time of  year to photograph.

This recent family session to me typifies autumn in my part of the world. It also reflects not only my own happy childhood growing up in Mt Macedon but that of the many children who live here.

In the Macedon Ranges we are spoilt with beautiful views, glorious autumn colour, home grown produce and not forgetting the odd chook!

My own parents moved up here inspired by the 70’s show ‘The Good Life’ and we had our own crazy farm full of farm animals (who were meant to be a source of food) that just became much loved pets! Ducky dawdles the duck, Lucky the magpie, Houdini the goat, Friendly the Rooster, Smartie the horse, and an over active veggie patch that produced so many zucchinis that I still have a bit of an aversion to them today! It wasn’t a successful foray into self sufficiency – but it was fun and filled with many happy memories and provides the inspiration for my photographs of children in the Macedon Ranges today.

So without further ado I introduce the  absolutely gorgeous J Family and their very own Good Life
